Metallographic Lab Technician - 2nd Shift (Additive Manufacturing)

Location: Onsite in Devens, Massachusetts, United States; Monday through Friday, 3:00pm–11:30pm

Hourly pay: $26–$38, plus a 10% shift differential for applicable shifts outside standard base-pay shifts

What you will do

• Prepare metallic samples through sectioning, grinding, polishing, etching, and imaging for analysis and reporting.
• Perform metallographic processes supporting engineering evaluation and part process qualification.
• Document and provide laboratory results to Materials and Process Engineering teams.
• Maintain laboratory equipment, supplies, and workspace through inspections, cleaning, and preventative maintenance.
• Collaborate directly with Engineering on varied projects and laboratory support.
• Follow company, departmental, and safety policies in an industrial environment involving mechanical equipment, chemicals, and acids.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience working in a laboratory setting.
• Experience performing laboratory analyses and tests.
• Experience in metallography, metallurgy, or materials science.
• Strong attention to detail, manual dexterity, organizational skills, and the ability to visualize three-dimensional objects.
• Ability to recognize the full color spectrum and other specific qualities when using a microscope.
• Knowledge of safe chemical storage and handling, with a strong commitment to safety protocols.
