TL;DR
Robot Science Operations (Robotics): Executing robot experiments and building repeatable evaluation workflows that connect robots, data, models, and real-world benchmarks with an accent on hands-on robotics operations and ML feedback loops. Focus on designing robotic tasks, configuring and calibrating hardware, measuring model performance, analyzing results, and improving end-to-end system throughput.

Location: On-site in the San Francisco Bay Area (San Mateo) or Boston (Somerville)

Salary: $150,000–$200,000 plus equity

What you will do

  • Execute experiments across multiple robot platforms and collaborate with ML research teams to interpret results.
  • Design robotic tasks, physical benchmarks, and structured evaluations of model capabilities.
  • Coordinate robot data collection, training jobs, evaluations, and real-world success-rate measurement.
  • Configure, calibrate, assemble, and debug robots and lightweight hardware fixtures for rollouts.
  • Beta test internal and third-party tools for teaching robots new skills.
  • Document reproducible workflows, identify operational bottlenecks, and improve system throughput.

Requirements

  • Hands-on experience with robot data collection, evaluation, or deployment.
  • Conceptual understanding of modern ML training, fine-tuning, and inference lifecycles.
  • Experience running experiments and tracking real-world metrics across model variants.
  • Comfort working across software, hardware, and physical systems, including basic wiring, sensor mounting, fixture assembly, and hardware debugging.
  • Strong organization, coordination, and technical documentation skills.
  • Execution-oriented approach with willingness to handle repetitive evaluations and iterate quickly.
