Senior Software Engineer (Logistics)

Location: South Africa; hybrid working model

hirify.global Fulfilment Solutions develops technology and operational solutions for e-commerce logistics in South Africa, supporting more than 30 million orders annually.

What you will do

• Develop and optimize systems managing parcel and food delivery across South Africa.
• Build and scale microservices supporting the hirify.global Group delivery network.
• Design and research solutions for complex logistics-domain challenges.
• Work with business stakeholders to improve delivery efficiency.
• Use event-driven architecture and graph databases to model and optimize the delivery network.
• Take end-to-end ownership of software solutions, primarily on open-source platforms.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of experience writing robust, efficient production code.
• Degree in Computer Science or a similar qualification, or equivalent experience where applicable.
• Experience with SQL database systems and Linux development environments.
• Proficiency in Java, Scala, Angular, Python, or C#, with openness to expanding the language skill set.

Nice to have

• Experience with logistics systems, microservices, event-driven architecture, graph databases, or graph traversal optimization.
