Senior Software Engineer (Java/Spring)

What you will do

• Plan, design, implement, test, and deploy software epics and customer-facing and internal functionality.
• Develop independently and through pair programming, perform code reviews, approve pull requests, and deliver point releases.
• Investigate alerts, triage and resolve bugs, support production operations, and maintain build and staging stability.
• Influence and evolve system-wide architecture, research technologies, and prototype new solutions.
• Write and maintain design, user, test, and technical documentation, including SQL for technical updates.
• Mentor less senior engineers, unblock team members, and collaborate with distributed teams on planning and delivery.

Requirements

• 8+ years of software development experience and a bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent professional experience.
• Strong experience with Java, Spring, JDBC, Hibernate or JPA, REST/HTTP, Gradle or Maven, and Unix shell commands.
• Knowledge of relational databases, SQL, table design, NoSQL, data lakes, JVM and garbage collection, cloud computing, and load balancing.
• Experience with TDD, continuous integration and delivery, Agile processes, monitoring, alerting, production support, and large-scale processing.
• Ability to work independently, take ownership of large pieces of work, assess and resolve technical issues, and influence architecture and interdisciplinary dependencies.
• Experience mentoring or training teams and collaborating effectively in a distributed environment.

Nice to have

• Experience with Google Cloud technologies.
• Open-source contributions, frontend exposure, or digital marketing knowledge.
• Affiliate and Partnerships Industry Fundamentals Certification by PXA.
