Senior Software Engineer (Java)

What you will do

• Plan, design, implement, test, deploy, and support customer-facing and internal software across squad epics.
• Develop independently and through pair programming, perform code reviews, approve pull requests, and deliver point releases.
• Design and evolve system-wide architecture, select cloud services, prototype technologies, and manage integrations and dependencies.
• Triage bugs, respond to alerts, diagnose production issues, and maintain build, staging, and application stability.
• Create and maintain technical, user, design, and test documentation and contribute to QA and continuous delivery processes.
• Mentor less senior engineers, unblock teammates, and collaborate with distributed teams on planning and delivery.

Requirements

• 8+ years of software development experience, including substantial experience with Java and Spring.
• Strong knowledge of SQL, relational database design, JDBC, Hibernate or JPA, NoSQL, data lakes, and large-scale processing.
• Experience with REST and HTTP protocols, Unix shell commands, Gradle or Maven, CI tooling such as Jenkins or Bamboo, and version control.
• Experience with TDD, continuous integration and delivery, monitoring, alerting, production support, load balancing, and JVM garbage collection.
• Ability to work independently, assess and resolve technical issues, take ownership of large work areas, and influence architecture.
• B.S. in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent professional experience; mentoring and Agile experience are required.
