Senior Mechanical Engineer (Data Centers)

What you will do

• Design and optimize mechanical systems for advanced modular data centers.
• Select coils, heat exchangers, chillers, compressors, pumps, expansion valves, refrigerants, and supporting components.
• Recommend designs that improve performance, efficiency, manufacturability, and ease of deployment.
• Conduct and support laboratory experiments, CFD, and FEA reviews to validate mechanical system performance.
• Configure modular deployments for clients and recommend product improvements.
• Support contract manufacturer selection and manufacturing operations while leading new design and manufacturing approaches.

Requirements

• Professional engineering designation and 7+ years of experience designing, selecting, or manufacturing mechanical and electrical systems for data centers, HVAC, or large-scale cooling applications.
• Deep understanding of modular data center architecture, including mechanical and electrical subsystems, applicable codes, data center tiers, efficiency, and reliability practices.
• Expertise in chiller and refrigeration system selection, design, and optimization.
• Experience with CFD and FEA for thermal and fluid dynamics.
• Hands-on laboratory experience designing and executing experiments, interpreting experimental data, and converting findings into design improvements.
• Ability to direct intermediate engineers, drafters, and designers across multiple disciplines.
