Database Engineer (PostgreSQL)

Location: Remote in Poland

Salary: PLN 184,000–276,000 per year, plus a 10% annual performance bonus target.

What you will do

• Support administration and maintenance of PostgreSQL databases on AWS RDS and Azure PostgreSQL.
• Monitor database health, performance, replication, storage, and availability.
• Assist with provisioning, upgrades, patching, backup and recovery, and disaster recovery activities.
• Troubleshoot slow queries, blocking, deadlocks, replication lag, and connectivity issues.
• Support SQL performance tuning and collaborate with application teams on optimization.
• Manage database security, access controls, automation scripts, documentation, and operational runbooks.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field.
• 2–3 years of hands-on PostgreSQL administration experience.
• Experience supporting PostgreSQL in AWS and/or Azure cloud environments.
• Understanding of PostgreSQL architecture, backup and recovery, replication, and performance tuning.
• Experience with applications hosted in Kubernetes infrastructure.
• Strong SQL troubleshooting, analytical, communication, and collaboration skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with AWS RDS PostgreSQL, Azure PostgreSQL Flexible Server, PgBouncer, Terraform, Infrastructure as Code, CI/CD, and DevOps practices.
• Knowledge of logical replication, CDC tools, and high-availability architectures.
• Relevant PostgreSQL or cloud certifications.
