Solution Engineer (Third Shift)

Location: Colorado Springs, Colorado; Huntsville, Alabama; McLean, Virginia; Raleigh, North Carolina. Working hours: night shift, 5pm–2am EST or 1am–10am EST.

Base salary: $50,000–$125,000 USD per year, plus potential discretionary bonus.

What you will do

• Triage and resolve alerts from cloud platform monitoring systems.
• Collaborate with engineers to troubleshoot, escalate, and resolve complex system and customer issues.
• Provide direct technical support to customers when needed.
• Identify alert trends, improve monitoring, and contribute code that increases reliability and efficiency.
• Diagnose root causes and solve complex technical problems through hands-on troubleshooting.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience in a technical field.
• Hands-on technical background with strong troubleshooting skills.
• Foundational knowledge of networking, including TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP, and routing.
• Familiarity with monitoring tools such as Datadog, Grafana, or Prometheus.
• Experience in a procedural environment such as helpdesk or first-line support, including following runbooks and established processes.
• Comfort with the Linux command line, strong communication skills, and willingness to work the required night shift.

Nice to have

• Foundational knowledge of SQL or NoSQL databases.
• Experience with Python or Bash scripting for task automation.
• Knowledge of Docker and Kubernetes.
