Senior Robotics Controls Engineer (Robotics)

Location: Austin, Texas, USA; onsite. Up to 10% travel to client and customer locations may be required.

Salary: $149,000–$204,600 base pay annually, depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.

What you will do

• Design, develop, and test control algorithms for mobile robot case-handling tasks, including navigation and manipulation.
• Deliver robotic control software as part of a cross-functional team of roboticists and software engineers.
• Develop sensor-fusion estimation techniques and control algorithms for autonomous navigation and manipulation.
• Collaborate with engineering and product teams on planning, design, and development of new and existing features.
• Maintain software quality, reliability, and testability while troubleshooting production and design issues.
• Identify technical risks and implement solutions that improve system performance and customer delivery outcomes.

Requirements

• Master’s or PhD in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Robotics, Aerospace, or a related discipline.
• 6+ years of experience developing algorithms for mobile-robot applications involving localization, manipulation, and navigation.
• Experience delivering robotics software products deployed in real-world environments.
• Knowledge of C++ embedded coding and design patterns for real-time environments.
• Knowledge of real-time or embedded operating systems, threading, and communication issues.
• Experience with software processes and version-control tools, plus strong written and verbal communication skills.
