Head of Engineering (Fintech)

What you will do

• Drive company-wide technology strategy across architecture, infrastructure, and engineering delivery.
• Guide architectural and solution design decisions for scalable, secure, and reliable systems.
• Build, lead, and scale multiple engineering teams, including managers and senior individual contributors.
• Establish observability, monitoring, alerting, incident management, and operational excellence practices targeting 99.9999%+ uptime.
• Improve engineering standards through code quality, testing, QA automation, documentation, CI/CD maturity, and technical debt reduction.
• Partner with Product, Compliance, Legal, Risk, Sales, Marketing, and business stakeholders on delivery and regulatory readiness.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
• 12–15 years of hands-on software development experience, including 5+ years leading multiple engineering teams and large-scale technical initiatives.
• Strong software architecture and backend engineering experience, including production systems built with Spring Boot or similar frameworks.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, deployment systems, technical debt management, agile methodologies, and technical resource management.
• Experience managing distributed and remote teams across multiple geographies.
• Experience with Java, Spring Boot, Docker, Kubernetes, PostgreSQL, DynamoDB, Elasticsearch, AWS, and microservices architecture.

Nice to have

• Experience in fintech or regulated technology environments.
• Exposure to emerging markets and financial inclusion challenges.
• Frontend development experience.
