Data Generation Engineer (AI)

Location: Palo Alto, USA (Hybrid)

Compensation: $170,000 – $230,000 per year

What you will do

• Design and build procedural generators for parametric, hardware-like geometry using programmatic CAD tools.
• Generate physically plausible simulation configurations, including boundary conditions and material assignments.
• Define and measure the diversity and coverage of generated datasets to optimize model performance.
• Collaborate with researchers and engineers across ML, numerical methods, and hardware engineering.
• Own complex technical problems end-to-end in a fast-growing startup environment.

Requirements

• Strong software engineering skills, particularly in Python.
• Hands-on experience with programmatic or parametric geometry, such as scripted CAD, B-rep, or procedural generation.
• Solid understanding of geometry processing fundamentals like meshing, boolean operations, and voxelization.
• Ability to reason about physical validity and engineering constraints.
• Must be able to work in a hybrid capacity at the Palo Alto HQ.

Nice to have

• Exposure to ML training pipelines and dataset-driven model behavior.
• Familiarity with LLM-driven code generation.
• Experience with FEA or thermal engineering.
• Knowledge of quality-diversity algorithms or deep learning fundamentals.
• Familiarity with hardware or semiconductor design processes.
