What you will do

• Execute in vivo brain imaging experiments in rodents using light- and ultrasound-based tools, genetically encoded indicators, and effectors.
• Handle trained experimental animals and manage imaging setup, calibration, alignment, and session execution.
• Coordinate experiment timing, scheduling, readiness checks, and dependencies.
• Perform data quality control, organization, documentation, and handoff to analysis partners.
• Collaborate with scientists and engineers to refine protocols, controls, and imaging-session success criteria.
• Maintain lab records, inventories, imaging hardware, surgical supplies, consumables, and protocols while troubleshooting experimental issues.

Requirements

• BS, BA, or MS in Neuroscience, Biology, Bioengineering, or a related field.
• Hands-on experience with in vivo brain imaging in model organisms such as mice and production of reproducible imaging datasets.
• Experience in an academic or industry research laboratory conducting in vivo neuroscience work.
• Strong attention to detail and comfort following rigorous protocols while maintaining documentation and data integrity.
• Collaborative, organized approach to experimental work and cross-team communication.

Nice to have

• Experience with behaving animals, including head-fixed behavior, habituation, training, or behavioral tracking during imaging.
• Experience with cranial window preparation and maintenance, stereotaxic procedures, or other imaging-related neurosurgical workflows.
• Familiarity with imaging data QC and processing workflows.
• Basic scripting or analysis experience with Python or MATLAB.
