Technician 2, Process (Manufacturing)

Location: Bayan Lepas, Malaysia; onsite work across PN1 and PN2 plants. Rotating 12-hour shifts and cross-plant travel may be required.

What you will do

• Perform DET Guzik and QMT testing and ensure results are delivered on schedule.
• Verify stable and consistent buyoff measurements against test criteria.
• Compile and upload test data to Online SPC and maintain tracking records.
• Perform head changes, tester conversions, buyoff activities, and tester troubleshooting.
• Support NPI, SMO, Time Slice, reference generation, head screening, and data-package activities.
• Maintain MRE laboratory 7S standards, manage reference and head inventory, and complete shift handovers.

Requirements

• Diploma or Advanced/Higher/Graduate Diploma in Mechanical, Mechatronic/Electromechanical, Electrical/Electronic Engineering, or an equivalent field.
• 1–2 years of manufacturing experience with machine operation, data collection, and analytical skills preferred.
• Ability to understand failure mechanisms and isolate process changes causing machine alarms.
• Ability to troubleshoot process controls, adjust processes, interpret machine data, and work with control limits.
• Ability to work in a cleanroom, rotating 12-hour shifts, and assigned work locations.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Windows software; Excel macros are an advantage.

Nice to have

• Experience with sputter metrology tools.
• Knowledge of magnetic materials used in HDD manufacturing.
• Experience with Excel macros.
