Senior Systems Engineer (AWS)

Location: London, United Kingdom; at least 3 days per week in the office

What you will do

• Design, build, and operate AWS infrastructure across EC2, EKS, ECR, S3, KMS, VPC, RDS, ElastiCache, OpenSearch, SageMaker, and CloudWatch.
• Develop reusable Terraform modules and improve infrastructure automation, configuration management, and golden AMI lifecycle management.
• Manage Kubernetes workloads on EKS, Helm deployments, service mesh integrations, and secure container image lifecycles.
• Design and optimise CI/CD pipelines using ArgoCD, Jenkins, and Terraform Cloud.
• Build monitoring, logging, alerting, and SRE practices to improve resilience, scalability, availability, and fault tolerance.
• Collaborate with developers, data teams, and platform engineering; document systems and support AI-driven automation for infrastructure workflows.

Requirements

• Professional experience operating production workloads on AWS and strong knowledge of core AWS services.
• Proficiency with Terraform, infrastructure-as-code patterns, Docker, and Kubernetes.
• Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines and scripting with Python, Bash, or similar.
• Knowledge of monitoring and observability platforms such as CloudWatch, Datadog, or OpenTelemetry.
• Understanding of networking fundamentals, Git-based version control, DevOps methodologies, cloud operations, security, and compliance.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, or equivalent practical experience.

Nice to have

• Experience with Istio, GitOps workflows, Port, Jira, or automated infrastructure deployment pipelines.
• AWS certifications such as Solutions Architect, SysOps, or DevOps Engineer.
• Experience with LLM-based development tools, prompt engineering, or AI agent workflows.
