Pre-Construction Manager (Data Centres)

Location: hirify.global HQ, North Sydney, Australia; travel to domestic and international data centre sites is required as needed.

What you will do

• Lead multiple data centre projects from market entry through site commencement across the APAC region.
• Manage pre-construction planning, site assessment, due diligence, design optimisation, permitting, power strategy, and delivery methodology.
• Develop business cases, estimates, schedules, capital requests, tender packages, and customer lease execution documents.
• Evaluate, negotiate with, and manage consultants, general contractors, vendors, and approving authorities.
• Drive scope, schedule, budget, buildability, value engineering, risk management, and MEP design optimisation decisions.
• Coordinate with site selection, customer success, procurement, corporate development, customers, and internal project teams while reporting progress to management.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience in design and construction management, or a relevant degree with 5+ concurrent years of construction project experience.
• Strong construction industry, design management, project management, scheduling, and problem-solving skills.
• High-level proficiency with project management tools such as MS Project.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings across all disciplines.
• Ability to evaluate innovative design and delivery concepts from feasibility through design development.
• Excellent communication skills, attention to detail, dependability, and ability to work with limited oversight.

• Experience delivering projects from design development through construction and handover.
• Experience with fast-track design/build projects and end-to-end project delivery.
• Experience procuring and negotiating construction contracts.
• Experience designing and developing large data centre projects.
• Knowledge of local and international building codes, regulations, and data centre construction methods.
