GL Accountant

Location: Remote; must be located in either the Eastern or Central Standard Time Zones.

Salary: $70,000–$75,000 per year.

What you will do

• Record financial transactions in accounting systems for multiple client companies.
• Post customer payments and maintain current accounts receivable aging reports.
• Record and code vendor invoices, obtain payment authorization, and schedule payments through an automated payable system.
• Reconcile bank records with general ledger accounts and process online payroll transactions.
• File sales and property tax as needed and complete other client-specific accounting tasks.
• Track time accurately across client engagements for budgeting and billing.

Requirements

• Located in either the Eastern or Central Standard Time Zones.
• Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 3+ years of accounting and/or full-charge bookkeeping experience.
• Working knowledge of accrual-basis accounting and payroll requirements.
• Experience with QuickBooks Online and other cloud-based accounting automation tools.
• Proficiency with the Microsoft 365 suite.
• Excellent communication and time-management skills, with the ability to multitask and prioritize work.
• Critical-thinking, problem-solving, and process-improvement skills.
• Flexibility to manage multiple tasks and shift between priorities.
• Ability to work independently in a remote-based role.
• Enthusiasm, inquisitiveness, willingness to learn broadly, and a creative mindset for suggesting improvements.
