Developer Experience Engineer (AI)

Location: Hybrid in San Francisco, CA or New York, NY

Salary: $100,000–$300,000 annually for California-based applicants; variable compensation, equity, and benefits may also apply.

What you will do

• Own the software delivery lifecycle across build, CI/CD, and infrastructure provisioning systems.
• Build an agent development experience that enables autonomous code building, deployment, testing, and verification.
• Develop a secure, self-hosted software builder as an alternative to GitHub Actions Runner.
• Adopt and operate solutions for secure infrastructure provisioning.
• Help define how autonomous agents move code safely into production.

Requirements

• Deep experience with CI/CD and build systems, including GitHub Actions, Harness, or Spacelift.
• Strong infrastructure-as-code skills with Terraform.
• Experience working with Claude Code and Codex in an agent-forward environment.
• 2–4 years of experience at an AI startup and 2–4 years at a successful high-growth technology company.

Nice to have

• Experience self-hosting GitHub and ECR.
• Experience with Pants, uv, e2b, pico, or Artifactory.
• Prior startup founder experience.
• Additional experience in application security.
