Senior Embedded Software Engineer (Robotics)

Location: Hybrid role based at the Wilmington, Massachusetts, USA headquarters; up to 10% travel to client and customer locations may be required.

Salary: $149,000–$204,600 base pay annually, plus benefits.

What you will do

• Design, develop, and maintain middleware for mobile robotic platforms.
• Build logging, diagnostics, telemetry, and observability infrastructure.
• Develop systems for launching, monitoring, restarting, and supervising robotic software services.
• Design communication frameworks for reliable data exchange between distributed software components.
• Deploy, validate, and troubleshoot software on physical robots and simulation environments.
• Own features and provide technical expertise within a collaborative engineering team.

Requirements

• At least 8 years of experience and a bachelor's degree in computer science, robotics, engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Production-quality software development experience in C++.
• Strong knowledge of Linux systems, process management, networking, IPC, and system services.
• Valid driver's license and ability to drive and/or fly to client and customer locations.

Nice to have

• Experience with ROS2 and DDS.
• Experience with TCP/IP, UDP, and other network protocols.
