Salary: $176,500–$260,000 annually, plus equity

What you will do

  • Build and deliver reliable, observable, and debuggable C++ software for edge devices deployed across a large vehicle fleet.
  • Develop software for automotive sensor integration, data capture, streaming, storage, and machine learning inference at the edge.
  • Deliver and maintain soft-real-time Linux applications across embedded vehicle devices.
  • Design fault-tolerant solutions, diagnostics, and monitoring tools to identify and resolve fleet performance issues.
  • Collaborate with Hardware, Product, Project, Engineering Management, Embodied AI, and Science stakeholders.
  • Promote engineering best practices through testing, documentation, tooling, mentorship, and collaboration.

Requirements

  • Proficiency developing high-performance embedded Linux systems software in C++ across the full software development lifecycle.
  • Experience with automotive sensors such as cameras, LiDAR, radar, IMU, GNSS, or localization systems.
  • Knowledge of embedded Linux, build systems, user-space applications, and IPC middleware such as ROS or other automotive middleware.
  • Understanding of distributed systems, scalability, performance optimization, and high-throughput robotics applications.
  • Ability to debug stack traces, core dumps, disk and memory bottlenecks, system load, external devices, and threading issues.
  • 5+ years of experience and a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.

Nice to have

  • Experience with robotics, autonomous systems, or real-world sensing applications.
  • Experience with QNX, real-time operating systems, automotive SoCs, or embedded Linux environments.
  • Knowledge of UDP/TCP, Ethernet communications, and debugging network bottlenecks in high-data-rate systems.
  • Advanced degree.
