Operators (Nuclear Energy)

Location: Onsite in Albuquerque, New Mexico, United States; rotating shifts, including weekends and holidays, are required.

What you will do

• Operate, field-check, monitor, start up, and shut down assigned process equipment and auxiliary systems.
• Commission mechanical and electrical equipment and execute system- and component-level operating procedures.
• Perform acceptance testing, including hydrostatic and pneumatic tests, I/O checks, and electrical calibration checks.
• Investigate and troubleshoot unplanned events, document preliminary findings, and participate in root-cause investigations.
• Perform minor repairs, preventive maintenance, chemistry sampling, Lockout-Tagout, and hazardous operations.
• Coordinate with shift teams, conduct shift relief, mentor operations personnel, and identify opportunities to improve plant performance.

Requirements

• Associate degree in Process Technology or a related field, or at least two years of plant operator or technician experience.
• Experience or background in mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, chemicals, power plants, military operations, or similar fields is highly relevant.
• Ability to understand, follow, and create technical procedures and read P&IDs and mechanical/electrical drawings.
• Experience with instrumentation and control systems, plant equipment, basic hand tools, spreadsheets, and Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
• Ability to work collaboratively, solve problems efficiently, maintain qualifications, and follow EH&S requirements.
• Must be able and willing to work with hazardous materials while wearing SCBA, a full-face respirator, Tyvek or other non-permeable suits, and required PPE; the role includes handling beryllium.

Nice to have

• Prior hands-on plant operations experience.
• Forklift and boom lift certification, or the ability to obtain these certifications.
