TL;DR
Director of Engineering, Visa Corporate Facilities, Building Systems & Controls (MEP, BAS/BMS, OT, and mission-critical infrastructure): Leading engineering, operations, and lifecycle management for corporate facilities, data centers, server rooms, and network distribution facilities with an accent on infrastructure reliability, modernization, and operational efficiency. Focus on defining multi-year engineering strategies, managing capital programs and vendor ecosystems, governing OT/ICS cybersecurity, and delivering energy and sustainability improvements.

Location: US - Foster City, CA; at least 3 days in the office

Salary: $170,700–$273,200 USD per year, with potential bonus and equity eligibility

What you will do

  • Oversee engineering, operations, and lifecycle management for building infrastructure across a corporate office portfolio.
  • Manage infrastructure for mission-critical spaces, including data centers, server rooms, and network distribution facilities.
  • Ensure the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of MEP, HVAC, BAS/BMS, life-safety, and data-center-grade systems.
  • Define engineering strategies, enterprise roadmaps, modernization initiatives, and data-driven operational improvements.
  • Manage capital programs, vendor ecosystems, budgets, and infrastructure performance outcomes.
  • Lead organizational transformation, stakeholder engagement, talent development, and DEI advocacy.

Requirements

  • At least 10 years of work experience with a Bachelor's Degree, or equivalent experience with an advanced degree or PhD.
  • 15+ years of progressive experience in engineering, facilities, or mission-critical infrastructure leadership.
  • 10+ years managing global or multi-regional engineering organizations and significant capital budgets.
  • Deep expertise in HVAC/mechanical systems, electrical infrastructure, BAS/BMS, OT/controls, and data-center or mission-critical environments.
  • Experience with OT/ICS cybersecurity governance, IT/OT convergence, ESG, energy management, and sustainability programs.
  • Ability to travel 5–10% of the time and work in an office setting with variable department hours.

Nice to have

  • Experience in a global corporate real estate, facilities management outsourcing, or professional services environment.
  • Experience with CMMS, IoT, AI/ML, digital twins, Prosci/ADKAR, and business continuity or disaster recovery.
