Battery Systems Engineer (UAV)

What you will do

• Lead the development, verification, and integration of the UAV Battery System.
• Coordinate technical communication with suppliers, provide inputs, and accept deliverables.
• Manage requirements and traceability from high-level needs through system and component levels.
• Develop Battery System design and lifecycle documentation and lead design reviews.
• Validate and verify requirements and generate compliance evidence for aviation authority certification.
• Work in a scaled agile environment and support the Product Owner.

Requirements

• Engineering degree, ideally in aerospace or electrical engineering.
• 5+ years of professional experience as a systems engineer developing Battery Systems in aviation or the drone industry.
• Strong knowledge of ASTM F3005 and RTCA DO-311 for airborne Battery Systems.
• Good knowledge of the electrical, mechanical, cell technology, and software aspects of battery design.
• Experience with drone systems, UAVCAN/DroneCAN, and systems engineering according to ARP4754A or equivalent.
• Technical leadership experience is preferred; knowledge of RTCA DO-160, DO-254, and DO-178 is a plus.

• Experience leading technical development projects.
• Proficiency with development assurance and qualification standards such as RTCA DO-160, DO-254, and DO-178.
