Platform Engineer (Go/AWS)

Location: New York, NY; onsite, 5 days per week in the office

Salary: $200,000–$400,000 base salary per year, plus equity and performance-based bonuses

What you will do

• Build and maintain shared libraries, SDKs, and code-generation tools using gRPC and OpenAPI.
• Architect and manage AWS infrastructure across ECS, RDS, MSK, Lambda, and data-streaming services.
• Debug production performance, tune databases, and automate operational toil.
• Partner with product engineering teams to identify friction and build intuitive internal platform tools.
• Improve observability, alerting, and distributed-systems troubleshooting practices.
• Document technical patterns, present engineering guidance, and mentor engineers.

Requirements

• Deep expertise in backend programming and experience building high-performance services or libraries.
• Strong experience with Go and production cloud workloads, especially AWS.
• Practical knowledge of ECS, RDS, Lambda, and data-streaming services.
• Ability to evaluate cost, performance, and complexity trade-offs in cloud architecture.
• Experience building developer tools and writing clear technical documentation.
