Senior Software Engineer, Identity & Access Discovery (Cybersecurity)

Location: 100% remote within the US; hybrid schedule available for candidates in the Chicago, IL or El Dorado Hills, CA metro areas. Qualified candidates must be a U.S. Person, defined as a U.S. citizen or lawful permanent resident.

What you will do

• Design and develop the Python discovery engine running on customer-deployed gateways, along with Java/Kotlin cloud services.
• Build discovery systems for privileged accounts, service accounts, keys, machines, and identity data across Active Directory, cloud IAM, databases, and endpoints.
• Develop identity correlation, incremental rescanning, and state-reconciliation capabilities that prevent duplicate or stale data.
• Create unit, integration, and automated test coverage, diagnostic tooling, logging, and error reporting for systems that cannot be directly debugged in the field.
• Design resilient discovery workflows for customer production networks, respecting API limits and minimizing blast radius during partial failures.
• Implement secure data-processing workflows within Keeper's zero-knowledge architecture and collaborate with Product, QA, and PAM engineers on delivery.

Requirements

• 8+ years of professional software development experience focused on backend systems.
• Strong Python experience, with working proficiency in Java or Kotlin and enough TypeScript/React experience to modify the administrative interface.
• Experience with distributed systems, APIs, data-processing pipelines, and systems operating reliably in environments outside direct control.
• Hands-on Active Directory and/or LDAP experience, plus working knowledge of AWS IAM and Organizations, Microsoft Entra ID, or GCP IAM.
• Strong knowledge of secure software development, authentication, authorization, encryption, and data modeling.
• U.S. Person status is required for involvement in GovCloud and FedRAMP environments.

Nice to have

• Experience with privileged access management, identity security, cybersecurity, identity discovery, account discovery, or asset inventory systems.
• Experience with containerized or cloud-native applications and high-scale enterprise SaaS products.
