Senior Sourcing Specialist – Germany Operations & Manufacturing (Optical Communications)

What you will do

• Support sourcing and procurement for the Aachen manufacturing and operations site.
• Source capital equipment, manufacturing consumables, laboratory and facilities equipment, MRO supplies, IT equipment, and corporate services.
• Execute RFQs, supplier evaluations, bid analyses, supplier selection, contract administration, and commercial negotiations.
• Manage supplier relationships, onboarding, compliance documentation, performance reviews, purchase orders, delivery tracking, and invoice resolution.
• Partner with Manufacturing, Engineering, Facilities, Finance, Quality, Operations, and Global Procurement teams on equipment, tooling, technical services, site expansions, and facility upgrades.
• Support materials planning, inventory monitoring, inbound shipments, freight management, import/export activities, and supplier delivery coordination.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Operations, Engineering, Logistics, or a related field.
• 5–8+ years of experience in sourcing, procurement, purchasing operations, supply chain, manufacturing support, or related functions.
• Experience sourcing capital equipment, manufacturing consumables, production materials, MRO supplies, laboratory equipment, or technical products and services.
• Experience with supplier negotiations, ERP and procurement systems such as SAP, Oracle, Coupa, or similar platforms, plus materials planning, inventory, and logistics processes.
• Experience supporting manufacturing, production, engineering, optical communications, laboratory, or industrial operations.
• Fluency in both English and German, written and spoken, is required.

Nice to have

• Experience with optical communications technologies, electronics, advanced manufacturing, laboratory, or engineering organizations.
• Experience sourcing specialized manufacturing equipment, automation systems, cleanroom equipment, precision instrumentation, or production tooling.
• Knowledge of European supplier markets, logistics networks, import/export regulations, freight management, and international logistics.
• Experience supporting capital equipment installations, production line expansions, facility upgrades, or manufacturing infrastructure projects.
• CPSM, CSCP, CPIM, or similar professional certification.
