Software Engineer (Aerospace)

Location: San Francisco, United States; on-site five days per week

Salary: $185,000–$215,000 per year

What you will do

• Develop and maintain Python-based stress analysis templates for composite plate buckling, classical laminate theory, and composite failure analysis.
• Create and own a scalable loads database for stress analysts and aircraft design teams.
• Implement aeroelastic solution sequences in a custom loads analysis tool.
• Build documented libraries supporting multidisciplinary design optimization workflows.
• Translate aerospace and mechanical engineering analysis methods into production-quality software.
• Develop flight dynamics simulation tools and improve the performance, reliability, and automation of internal engineering toolchains.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in software engineering, development, or a related field.
• Substantial Python experience building engineering or scientific computing tools.
• Background or familiarity in mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, or a related technical discipline.
• Ability to collaborate with structural, loads, aerodynamics, GNC, and flight dynamics teams.
• Willingness to work in the San Francisco office five days per week.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with Fortran.
