Senior Quality Development Engineer (Kubernetes)

Location: Boston, MA, United States

Salary: $92,000–$136,000 USD per year, plus a discretionary annual variable target incentive.

What you will do

• Design and execute system-level validation for HealthShare products, including integration, upgrade, performance, scalability, and resiliency testing.
• Operate customer-scale validation environments with multi-node topologies and large datasets.
• Build automation frameworks, validation tooling, and orchestration platforms for repeatable system-level testing.
• Develop workload models, performance tests, scripts, and datasets to analyze throughput, latency, and bottlenecks.
• Support release validation, defect resolution, and collaboration with HealthShare, DevOps, Platform Engineering, and Operations teams.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to Quality Development Systems Engineers.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in software quality engineering, SDET, or systems engineering.
• Experience testing distributed systems at scale, including performance and scalability evaluation.
• Proficiency in multiple programming languages such as Python, ObjectScript, or Java.
• Experience with Kubernetes, Linux systems, and Jenkins CI/CD pipelines.
• Ability to review source code, identify weaknesses and performance issues, and apply strong debugging and analytical skills.
• Proven ability to use AI coding agents for code generation, refactoring, debugging, and test creation while ensuring correctness, security, and maintainability.

Nice to have

• Experience with cloud, VMware, Nutanix, Ansible, Terraform, Prometheus, or Grafana.
• Knowledge of large-scale data processing, data pipelines, FHIR, HL7, or X12.
• Familiarity with Angular, TypeScript, Selenium, Playwright, or Cypress.
• Experience testing high availability, failover, and recovery scenarios.
• BS/MS or higher in Computer Science, STEM, or Engineering.
