Senior Software Engineer (C++)

Location: Budapest, Hungary; hybrid work model with onsite work at least 50% of the time for employees within commuting distance of a hirify.global office.

What you will do

• Design, build, and own secure, scalable services powering compliance SaaS products.
• Develop and modernize services in C++ using AWS and serverless patterns.
• Drive architectural decisions and evaluate reliability, performance, cost, and security trade-offs.
• Use and validate AI tools for coding, debugging, testing, prototyping, and engineering productivity.
• Embed AI governance, compliance checks, monitoring, and risk mitigation into development workflows.
• Mentor engineers and collaborate with Product, Security, DevOps, and other teams on delivery and compliance.

Requirements

• 5–7 years of professional software engineering experience in an agile environment.
• Strong C++ experience developing RESTful APIs and secure, scalable services.
• Hands-on experience with AWS, serverless architectures, Docker, infrastructure as code using CDK or Terraform, CI/CD, and monitoring.
• Experience with SQL/PostgreSQL and/or NoSQL databases, including schema design and performance optimization.
• Understanding of LLM concepts, prompt sensitivity, hallucinations, safe AI use cases, privacy, bias, cost, and vendor lock-in risks.
• Ability to mentor peers, communicate technical and AI concepts clearly, and apply security practices such as IAM and secrets management.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with Angular for collaboration on end-to-end features.
• Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent hands-on experience.
