Principal Quality Development Engineer (AI)

Location: Boston, MA, United States

Base salary: $115,000–$164,000 USD per year, plus a discretionary annual variable target incentive.

What you will do

• Develop and maintain AI validation methodologies and tools for non-deterministic AI-enabled applications.
• Define non-functional and structural testing strategies covering performance, security, interoperability, and multiple LLMs.
• Evaluate LLM accuracy, safety, performance, and hallucination detection results.
• Lead AI test strategies and detailed test plans for product releases.
• Design and build custom tools for UI, API, and AI/ML validation.
• Collaborate with Agile teams working on TrakCare and HealthShare to prioritize testing, execute tests, triage issues, and report results.

Requirements

• Tertiary qualification in Computer Science or a related discipline.
• At least 3 years of professional experience.
• Comprehensive understanding of AI tools, including their capabilities and limitations.
• Good understanding of the SDLC and software testing principles.
• Technical proficiency in multiple programming languages and qualifications or certifications in AI.
• Experience collaborating with interdisciplinary teams and adapting to new methodologies, technologies, and software products.

Nice to have

• System administration or DevOps experience.
