Mechanical Engineer (Vacuum Valves)

Location: Onsite in Andover, Massachusetts, United States

Salary: $71,025–$118,375 USD per year, plus a discretionary annual bonus.

What you will do

• Develop vacuum valve designs from ideation through prototyping, product development, launch, and volume production.
• Create 3D models, detailed engineering drawings, and analyses using tools such as SolidWorks and Ansys.
• Define and execute engineering performance, reliability, validation, and design verification tests.
• Design test fixtures and equipment for product performance evaluation.
• Build initial minimal viable products and collaborate with manufacturing, operations, supply chain, product management, and applications teams.
• Ensure designs meet quality, performance, manufacturability, safety, and regulatory requirements; travel may be required up to 10%.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in engineering.
• At least 3 years of relevant engineering experience.
• Experience with 3D CAD modeling; SolidWorks is preferred.
• Exposure to vacuum technology and mechanical fabrication techniques such as machining, welding, brazing, or sheet metal work.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• This is an onsite role in Andover, Massachusetts; MKS generally hires candidates residing in states where it is registered to do business.

Nice to have

• Experience with semiconductor manufacturing equipment.
• Experience with vacuum sealing technology.
• Experience or exposure to CNC programming and tools.
