Senior Robotics Software Engineer

What you will do

• Design and build autonomous software for the Bonsai Intelligence fleet across agricultural and other complex environments.
• Develop documented and tested production software in C++, Python, and Rust within a ROS2 environment.
• Build mission-critical systems for navigation, task execution, and state management across different vehicle form factors and customer needs.
• Review code and design documentation for correctness and alignment with system architecture.
• Support, debug, and solve problems across a growing fleet of autonomous tractors and precision agriculture equipment.
• Use data to guide development decisions while prioritizing safety, reliability, and extensibility.

Requirements

• 4 or more years of relevant experience in applied robotics and software engineering.
• BS, MS, or PhD in a related field.
• Experience shipping production robots to customers.
• Familiarity with C++ and ROS2 development best practices, including testing and CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience debugging across the hardware/software boundary and outside your primary area of expertise.
• Comfort working in a Linux environment.

Nice to have

• Experience solving path-planning and optimization problems in low-latency, compute-constrained environments.
• Production experience with Rust.
