  • Lead the design of flight-control actuators, propulsion and landing-gear components, and environmental-control system components.
  • Design critical mechanical subcomponents including gears, bearings, and seals.
  • Design, build, and test components against environmental qualification standards such as DO-160G and MIL-STD-810.
  • Collaborate with electrical, software, and mechanical engineers to develop and fly complex aircraft systems.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of professional CAD experience for the Staff level or 12+ years for the Principal level, using NX, CATIA, SolidWorks, or similar tools.
  • Strong mechanical engineering fundamentals covering CAD design, FEA or hand calculations, and machine-shop fabrication.
  • Experience with pneumatic, hydraulic, and/or electromechanical motorized systems.
  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, computer science, electrical engineering, or a similar engineering discipline.
  • Passion for aircraft and electrification in aviation.

Nice to have

  • Familiarity with aerospace design and regulatory standards, including FAA, EASA, DO-160G, and MIL-STD-810.
  • Experience with hand-calculation methods for preliminary and verification analysis of complex mechanical systems.
  • Knowledge of mechanical manufacturing fundamentals and advanced GD&T for mechanisms.
  • Experience taking designs from concept through analysis and production independently and with cross-functional teams.

Culture & Benefits

  • Work across mechanical, electrical, and software engineering teams.
  • Contribute to the development of a hybrid-electric regional aircraft with a zero-emission electric range.
