Strategic Sourcing Manager (Photonics)

What you will do

• Develop and execute strategic sourcing plans aligned with product roadmaps and company growth objectives.
• Identify, qualify, onboard, and manage suppliers across silicon photonics, advanced packaging, optical components, contract manufacturing, and strategic manufacturing.
• Lead negotiations covering pricing, lead times, capacity, quality, and commercial terms, including supply agreements, SOWs, development agreements, and NDAs.
• Drive cost optimization through early design engagement, market intelligence, should-cost modeling, supplier improvement, and long-term agreements.
• Ensure supply continuity through multi-sourcing, supplier performance management, risk mitigation, and contingency planning.
• Partner with engineering, operations, manufacturing, product management, and finance to manage supplier selection, component qualification, demand, capacity, delivery, and NPI-to-HVM transitions.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Business, or a related field.
• 10+ years of experience in strategic sourcing, supplier management, or supply chain management within semiconductor, photonics, or high-tech industries.
• Strong experience working with global suppliers, contract manufacturers, specialty component vendors, and strategic manufacturing partners.
• Experience with optical technologies, manufacturing process deployment, and NPI-to-HVM transitions in complex hardware environments.
• Deep understanding of cost modeling, supplier negotiations, contract terms, risk management, and supplier performance KPIs.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, cross-functional collaboration, and stakeholder influence skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with silicon photonics, optical transceivers, or advanced packaging.
• Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems and supply chain analytics tools.
• Experience building supply chains from early stage to scale.
• Knowledge of global trade, logistics, and compliance considerations.
