Staff/Sr Staff Technical Program Manager, Hardware Systems

Location: Boston, MA; flexible hybrid workplace model

Salary: $171,000–$243,000 USD base salary annually, depending on level, location, experience, education, and market data. Additional compensation includes equity grants and performance-based equity.

What you will do

• Coordinate all Hardware Systems activities across concurrent projects, maintaining integrated schedules, priorities, dependencies, risks, and resource visibility.
• Align electrical, mechanical, systems, software, supply chain, and other cross-functional teams through structured meetings, decisions, status updates, and follow-up.
• Manage hardware development milestones including bring-up, NPI, EVT, DVT, PVT, system integration, production, test infrastructure, tooling, and engineering support programs.
• Track component orders, PCB fabrication, PCBA and mechanical assemblies, engineering samples, BOMs, and material commitments with supply chain partners.
• Interface with contract manufacturers, ODMs, PCB and sheet metal fabricators, and assembly houses to manage schedules, deliverables, technical alignment, and issue resolution.
• Represent Hardware Systems in company-wide program reviews, track engineering budgets, and establish lightweight reporting, risk, dependency, and decision-management processes.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related technical field.
• 5+ years of program management experience in hardware engineering, including direct exposure to electrical and mechanical development cycles.
• Experience managing concurrent engineering programs with shared resources and overlapping timelines.
• Strong knowledge of PCBA, mechanical enclosures, PCB fabrication, system integration, bring-up, EVT/DVT/PVT, production, material flow, component tracking, and BOM management.
• Experience coordinating contract manufacturers and ODMs, managing deliverables, facilitating technical alignment, and resolving open issues.
• Strong facilitation, communication, risk-management, follow-up, and presentation skills, with expertise in Microsoft Project, Jira, Smartsheet, or equivalent tools.
