Staff Security Operations Engineer (Microsoft Entra ID)

Location: Irvine, California, USA; hybrid work from the Irvine office and/or a home office. On-call support may be required, including work across time zones for global coverage.

Salary: $127,300–$216,400 per year.

What you will do

• Lead migration waves for devices joining or hybrid-joining Microsoft Entra ID from on-premises Active Directory environments.
• Create migration runbooks, rollback plans, validation checklists, success criteria, and adoption reports.
• Administer Entra ID, including Conditional Access, Identity Protection, SSO, app registrations, enterprise applications, and hybrid synchronization.
• Manage Duo MFA, Windows Hello for Business, Microsoft Intune security controls, compliance policies, RBAC, PIM, and governance.
• Automate identity administration, provisioning, reporting, and troubleshooting with PowerShell and Microsoft Graph.
• Resolve identity-related incidents, support compliance and auditing, document IAM procedures, and collaborate with security, IT, and compliance teams.

Requirements

• 6+ years of experience in IT or information security, including 3+ years of hands-on Microsoft Entra ID experience.
• Experience with Entra ID device migration, Entra Connect, Conditional Access, Identity Protection, SSO, app registrations, and enterprise applications.
• Experience administering Duo MFA, Windows Hello for Business, Microsoft Intune, and Active Directory.
• Strong PowerShell and Microsoft Graph scripting skills for IAM and device automation.
• Familiarity with SIEM platforms and audit reporting for compliance requirements such as SOX.
• BA or BS in information technology, computer science, information security, or a related field, or equivalent hands-on IAM experience.

Nice to have

• Microsoft Identity and Access Administrator, Endpoint Administrator, CISSP, or Duo Security Administrator certification.
• Python experience for advanced IAM automation and integrations.
• Experience with SIEM platforms such as Devo.
