Quality Manager - Europe (Hydrogen)

Location: Remote, Europe; Europe-based with proximity to major fabrication and manufacturing hubs preferred. Travel of 40–60% is required during fabrication, inspection, and Factory Acceptance Testing phases.

What you will do

• Lead quality activities across product development, procurement, fabrication, construction, commissioning, and project delivery.
• Build and manage quality systems, procedures, programs, personnel, contractors, inspectors, and third-party inspection resources.
• Develop Inspection and Test Plans, establish quality hold points, and provide quality oversight during fabrication, manufacturing, and construction.
• Qualify and audit suppliers, maintain the Approved Vendor List, and define project-specific quality requirements for contracts and purchase orders.
• Coordinate PED conformity assessments, own EU Technical Files, issue EU Declarations of Conformity, and manage CE-related compliance activities.
• Lead FAT activities, approve FAT and SAT procedures, resolve punch-list items, and maintain manufacturing and transportation quality records.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, materials, chemical, welding, industrial engineering, or a related technical discipline; a master’s degree is preferred.
• 10+ years of quality experience in fabrication, manufacturing, industrial equipment, or project development, including 4+ years in a Quality Manager, Lead Quality Engineer, or equivalent leadership role.
• Experience leading quality teams, inspectors, contractors, and third-party resources, as well as developing and improving quality management systems.
• Experience supporting multiple projects in Europe and working with module fabricators and manufacturing partners throughout Europe.
• Strong knowledge of supplier qualification, auditing, inspection, quality assurance, welding controls, pressure equipment, and regulated industrial systems.
• Fluent English is required; business-level Spanish or German is preferred.

Nice to have

• Experience in hydrogen, industrial gas, chemical processing, renewable energy, oil and gas, or other highly regulated industrial systems.
• Experience with PED conformity assessments, CE marking, pressure equipment, welded assemblies, and hydrogen service equipment.
• Professional certification such as CQE, Lead Auditor, Welding Inspector, or equivalent.
• Familiarity with ISO 9001, ISO 3834-2, PED, ATEX, Machinery, LVD, EMC, ASME, EN, AD 2000, NACE, API, ISO hydrogen standards, and EIGA standards.
