Sr. Director (Optical Transceiver Manufacturing)

hirify.global is a well-funded startup developing photonics infrastructure, optical interconnects, and photonic engines for AI supercomputing and high-performance computing.

What you will do

• Lead manufacturing strategy and site operations for optical transceiver production, owning output, quality, cost, delivery, and scale.
• Build and scale manufacturing capabilities for 800G and 1.6T optical transceiver products, including ramp planning, staffing, equipment readiness, and facility infrastructure.
• Establish a prototyping and test environment to support new product introduction, process validation, and operator and engineer training.
• Partner with engineering, test, quality, supply chain, and product teams to transition pilot builds into repeatable production.
• Build and develop the manufacturing organization, including hiring, onboarding, training, performance management, and succession planning.
• Drive operational excellence through KPI management, standard work, 5S, visual management, root-cause analysis, and corrective actions.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Operations, Industrial Management, or a related technical field.
• 15+ years of manufacturing leadership experience, including optical transceivers, optical components, photonics, precision assembly, or advanced electronics manufacturing.
• Proven experience leading factory or site operations, production scale-up, or manufacturing organizations in high-growth environments.
• Strong knowledge of production planning, WIP management, yield improvement, line balancing, and capacity planning.
• Experience building teams and influencing engineering, operations, quality, and executive stakeholders.
• Strong English communication skills are required; proficiency with Microsoft Office and familiarity with MES, ERP, and shop-floor management systems are expected.
