Manager, Supplier Quality Engineering – Optical Commodities (Optical Engineering)

What you will do

• Lead a global, geographically distributed Supplier Quality Engineering team across multiple sites.
• Own the supplier quality strategy for optical commodities across all business units.
• Oversee supplier qualification, performance monitoring, risk management, and supplier development programs.
• Lead Incoming Quality Assurance activities, including inspection processes, quality data analysis, and inspection strategy optimization.
• Act as the primary quality representative for strategic optical suppliers and lead escalations and executive-level engagements.
• Partner with Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations, Program Management, Supply Chain, Reliability, and Customer Quality to support supplier readiness and product execution.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Optical Engineering, Physics, Materials Science, or a related technical discipline.
• 10+ years of experience in Supplier Quality, Quality Engineering, or Manufacturing Quality in a high-technology manufacturing environment.
• At least 5 years of leadership experience managing engineering or quality organizations.
• Strong technical knowledge of optical components, photonics, fiber optics, lasers, or related optical technologies.
• Experience managing geographically distributed teams and leading supplier quality initiatives.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills with strategic suppliers and executive leadership.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree in Engineering or a related discipline.
• Experience supporting multiple product lines in a global manufacturing organization.
• Knowledge of semiconductor, photonics, precision optics, and advanced packaging manufacturing processes.
