Staff Software Engineer (AI)

Location: Remote-first across the United States and Canada; in-person company gatherings take place twice a year.

Starting base salary: $233,500–$290,700 annually, plus a target annual bonus of 20% of base salary, equity, and a 401(k) match.

What you will do

• Own a product surface, platform area, or cross-team capability and set its technical direction.
• Take ambiguous business problems from initial concept through production and measure customer impact.
• Build platforms and tooling adopted by multiple engineering teams and own them as they scale.
• Make architecture decisions spanning teams and establish patterns and evaluations for AI-assisted development.
• Partner with product, design, and data as a peer to shape what should be built.
• Coach Senior engineers through complex technical and product decisions.

Requirements

• Production experience sufficient to operate at Staff Engineer scope and make strong, adaptable technical decisions.
• Ability to lead ambiguous problems independently and own outcomes from idea through delivery.
• Demonstrated ability to improve how a team builds with AI and make the new approach stick.
• Strong depth in platform, reliability, security, AI development tooling, or end-to-end customer-facing product work, with fluency in the other area.
• Ability to influence multiple teams without direct reports and collaborate closely with product, design, and data.
