Senior AI Engineer

Location: New York, New York, United States; on-site at least four days per week

Salary: $170,000–$200,000 USD annually

What you will do

• Design, build, and ship AI-powered automation tools and internal applications that convert manual business processes into AI-first workflows.
• Architect and maintain LLM systems, including prompt pipelines, agentic workflows, tool-calling integrations, and RAG setups.
• Build reliable data pipelines connecting Snowflake, internal APIs, and SaaS tools to AI workflows.
• Partner with Process Analysts to translate business requirements into engineering specifications and iterate based on user feedback.
• Own production reliability through monitoring, alerting, and continuous evaluation of AI outputs.
• Evaluate emerging AI models, frameworks, and APIs and contribute to standards for prompt management, model selection, evaluation, and architecture.

Requirements

• 6+ years of software engineering experience, including 2+ years designing, building, and deploying LLM-based or AI-powered applications in production.
• Strong Python skills with experience building APIs, data pipelines, and backend services.
• Hands-on experience with LLM APIs, prompt engineering, function calling, multi-step reasoning, and tool use.
• Knowledge of SQL, data transformation, and cloud data warehouses; Snowflake is preferred.
• Experience with workflow orchestration tools such as Airflow or Prefect and cloud infrastructure, preferably AWS.
• Ability to work on-site at least four days per week in New York.

• Experience with vector databases, embeddings, or semantic search.
