Lead Composite Technician - 2nd Shift (Aerospace): Leading hands-on composite component assembly for the Neutron launch vehicle structure with an accent on team coordination, laminating, bonding, vacuum bag processing, and mechanical integration. Focus on assigning production work, improving quality and safety, training technicians, and building aerospace structures through core fitting, thermal protection integration, and oven/autoclave curing.

Location: Middle River, Maryland, United States; onsite, 2nd shift

Salary: $37–$45 USD per hour in Maryland

What you will do

  • Lead composite technicians, assign work, coordinate production activities, and track progress against delivery objectives.
  • Mentor and train technicians while ensuring compliance with health, safety, PPE, and production standards.
  • Build and assemble composite structures through setup, bonding, fastening, laminating, vacuum bagging, and oven or autoclave curing.
  • Fit honeycomb, foam, and syntactic cores and refurbish thermal protection systems.
  • Integrate mechanical hardware and perform layouts and dimensional checks using precision inspection tools.
  • Drive improvement projects, work-instruction feedback, capacity planning, and basic facility preventive maintenance.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in mechanical troubleshooting, assembly, installation, or repair in a highly regulated manufacturing or maintenance environment.
  • Experience leading a team in a production environment.
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Familiarity with hand, power, pneumatic, and inspection tools.
  • For U.S. office roles, eligibility to access ITAR-regulated technology is required: U.S. citizenship, lawful permanent residence, refugee or asylee status, or eligibility to obtain the required authorizations.
  • Ability to stand and walk for an entire 8+ hour shift, work at elevated heights and in tight spaces, and lift, carry, push, or pull materials up to 25 pounds.

Nice to have

  • Composite, lamination, core bonding, splicing, prepreg manufacturing, or resin infusion experience.
  • Experience with material data sheets and drilling, laminating, and assembly prints.
  • Certification or ability to become certified in all composites work centers.
  • Experience training and mentoring composite technicians on industry standards and specific processes.
  • Broad manufacturing experience across multiple industries.
