TL;DR
Principal Radio Systems Engineer (Radar): Designing and architecting next-generation radar electronics from system requirements through validation, manufacturing, and deployment with an accent on RF, mixed-signal, power, timing, and high-performance digital circuitry. Focus on analyzing radar performance, optimizing designs through simulation and laboratory development, leading technical reviews, and integrating hardware across multiple programs.

Location: Denver, Colorado region, with regular on-site visits and frequent travel to the region; occasional travel to Menlo Park, California

Salary: $213,000 base salary, plus bonus, stock options, and benefits

What you will do

  • Lead RF system architecture and specifications across multiple radar programs while working with end-use customers and external partners.
  • Evaluate technical trade-offs and make architectural decisions for complex hardware systems.
  • Analyze radar sensor performance and define system, subsystem, component, and board-level requirements.
  • Lead the architecture and development of RF, mixed-signal, power, control, timing, and high-performance digital circuitry.
  • Optimize designs through simulation and laboratory hardware development, supporting validation and deployment.
  • Conduct technical design reviews, mentor engineers, support manufacturing, and investigate field issues and root causes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
  • 10+ years of experience designing radio systems.
  • Experience with modeling and simulation, systems engineering, requirements management, and validation test plans.
  • Strong RF system design knowledge, including noise, linearity, filtering, amplification, timing, and signal synthesis and analysis.
  • Hands-on RF hardware development experience and engineering automation using Python.
  • Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a U.S. personnel security clearance and required ITAR authorizations.

Nice to have

  • Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • Experience with radar, aerospace, communications, defense, or other mission-critical electronics systems.
  • Experience supporting hardware through manufacturing and deployment and leading technical teams.
  • Knowledge of state-of-the-art RF electronics, digital system integration, and Altium Designer or equivalent PCB design software.
