Junior Privacy and Cybersecurity Associate (Cybersecurity)

Location: Silicon Valley, United States; hybrid work

Salary: $235,000–$310,000 annual base salary, with a discretionary performance bonus potentially available.

What you will do

• Advise clients on privacy and cybersecurity matters in mergers and acquisitions, financings, capital markets, licensing, technology transactions, and commercial contracts.
• Assess privacy compliance requirements involving consumer, health, financial, employee, and other sensitive information.
• Draft privacy and security policies, privacy-related contracts, and data processing agreements.
• Support cybersecurity governance, preparedness, compliance, data breach response, regulatory investigations, and related litigation defense.
• Counsel clients on technology and data flows across business operations and transactions.

Requirements

• Two to four years of experience in privacy and cybersecurity law, preferably involving business transactions.
• Understanding of federal privacy laws including TCPA, GLBA, FCRA, CAN-SPAM, COPPA, and the FTC Act; state laws including CCPA; and international regimes including GDPR.
• Superior academic credentials and excellent oral, written, and interpersonal skills.
• Strong professional references.
• Bar membership in the jurisdiction where applying or eligibility to take the next available bar examination is required.
