Engineer II-Equipment (CMP)

Location: Fab 4 facility in Gresham, Oregon, United States; onsite equipment engineering role

What you will do

• Install, support, maintain, and improve specialized CMP semiconductor manufacturing equipment.
• Write, edit, and audit SOPs, manuals, and specifications for preventive and predictive maintenance.
• Manage spare and consumable parts programs, forecast inventory needs, and identify parts for rebuilding.
• Diagnose equipment breakdowns and provide hardware and software guidance to on-shift technicians.
• Support process engineering with SPC, PFMEA, and change-control activities to identify systemic issues.
• Coordinate equipment modifications, moves, and new installations with Site Services, Safety, Production, and vendors.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or an equivalent technical field.
• 2.5–5 years of experience in equipment engineering for industrial automation.
• Ability to analyze technical documentation, including schematics and logic diagrams.
• Hands-on experience with electrical and mechanical tools, including voltmeters and oscilloscopes.
• Basic IT, software, and database management skills, plus strong documentation, project management, writing, and communication skills.
• Ability to lift, push, pull, and carry approximately 50 lbs.; the role includes standing, walking, climbing, bending, kneeling, crouching, reaching, and crawling in an environment with potential mechanical, electrical, noise, vibration, fumes, dust, and gas hazards.

Nice to have

• Previous experience as an equipment technician or in factory automation.
• Familiarity with robots, AC/DC motion controllers, and PLCs.
