Atlas Electrical Engineering Manager (Robotics)

Location: Waltham, Massachusetts, United States. Candidates must be eligible to work in the United States; visa sponsorship is not available.

Base salary: $150,000–$200,000 annually, plus an annual bonus structure.

What you will do

• Manage a team of 5–10 electrical engineers developing and continuously improving robotic actuator products.
• Provide technical leadership for electrical system architecture, implementation, validation, and production.
• Collaborate across engineering disciplines to analyze failure modes and design performance validation tests.
• Evaluate and introduce technologies that improve actuator performance, reliability, and scalability.
• Coordinate with manufacturing, suppliers, technicians, contract manufacturers, and logistics to support assembly and production.
• Lead troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, corrective actions, design reviews, documentation, and engineering standards.

Requirements

• Proven experience leading teams and delivering technical impact.
• Experience architecting complex electromechanical products with tight packaging, reliability, and thermal-management requirements.
• Extensive experience with power electronics and/or motor drives.
• Experience designing and validating high-speed communication interfaces, HDI PCB routing, and PCB fabrication and assembly.
• Working knowledge of EMC/EMI testing, Linux, bootloaders, peripheral drivers, and systems engineering.
• Expert proficiency with schematic-capture and PCB-layout software, plus strong communication and technical leadership skills.

Nice to have

• Firmware development in C.
• Experience with volume manufacturing.
• Experience with Python, LabView, or MATLAB.
• Knowledge of DFMEA, PFMEA, 8D, and structured problem-solving methods.
