Medicinal Chemist (AI)

Location: Remote, U.S. Only; domestic travel required 20–40% of the time. The role also involves onsite, hands-on work with pharma and biotech partners.

Salary: $220K–$300K plus equity

What you will do

• Improve AI agent performance on hit-to-lead chemistry tasks, including SAR analysis, structure-based design, and synthetic feasibility analysis.
• Design benchmarks and acceptance criteria for chemistry-focused agent workflows.
• Integrate AI agents into discovery workflows with medicinal chemists at pharma and biotech partners.
• Evaluate AI-generated chemistry for structural soundness, failure modes, and practical actionability.
• Collaborate with Forward Deployed Engineers and Computational Biologists on client accounts.
• Support engagement scoping, success metrics, and technical evaluations with go-to-market teams.

Requirements

• Ph.D. in Computational Chemistry, Medicinal Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, or a related field.
• 5+ years of industry experience, ideally with a pharma or biotech sponsor organization.
• Track record in lead optimization campaigns from hit identification through candidate nomination.
• Deep knowledge of cheminformatics tools such as RDKit, Schrödinger, or MOE.
• Experience using ADMET and DMPK data in design decisions.
• Ability to travel domestically 20–40% of the time.
