Staff Software Engineer (Scala)

Location: New York, New York, United States; on-site at least four days per week

Salary: $200,000–$250,000 USD annually

What you will do

• Define the technical strategy and long-term roadmap for the Incentive Offers platform.
• Architect scalable services for offer management, campaign eligibility, business rules, and real-time member communications.
• Develop identity resolution systems connecting physical-world vehicle signals with digital member profiles.
• Build attribution and measurement engines for closed-loop redemption across multiple business verticals.
• Integrate the platform with external partner systems and point-of-sale technologies.
• Mentor senior engineers, improve engineering standards, and resolve systemic bottlenecks affecting reliability and developer velocity.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience building customer-facing applications and complex distributed systems.
• Expert proficiency in Scala, Java, or a similar JVM-based language.
• Experience architecting data-intensive platforms and real-time event-driven systems.
• Experience with AI/ML tools, operational excellence, observability, monitoring, and automated testing.
• Proven ability to lead technical strategy, communicate complex concepts, and mentor engineers.
• Advanced degree in Computer Science or a related technical field.
