Associate General Counsel, Real Estate & Development (Data Centers)

What you will do

• Lead legal strategy and maintain ownership of matters across all phases of data center development, from site selection through commercialization and delivery.
• Draft, review, and negotiate purchase and sale agreements, leases, joint venture agreements, loan documents, construction contracts, options, easements, and access agreements.
• Supervise title, survey, environmental, geotechnical, and zoning diligence for large-scale infrastructure sites.
• Lead legal matters for project financing, debt raises, data center construction, design, execution, construction management, and commissioning.
• Manage construction claims, liens, delays, defects, site safety compliance, outside counsel, and project legal budgets.
• Train and mentor legal counsel and paralegal resources while partnering with development, operations, asset management, and strategic finance teams.

Requirements

• Active license to practice law in at least one U.S. state and membership in good standing of a U.S. bar.
• At least 10 years of legal experience, including substantial experience in commercial real estate development, construction, and/or data center industries.
• Expertise in complex commercial real estate development transactions, joint ventures, project finance, leasing, and construction.
• Strong negotiation, drafting, written communication, and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects, high-volume document workflows, critical deadlines, and version control in a fast-paced environment.
• Practical, business-oriented judgment and the ability to explain complex legal issues to non-legal stakeholders.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with triple-net data center leases, colocation agreements, and service-level agreements.
