Senior/Principal Scientist, Computational Neuroscience, Computational Sciences Center of Excellence (AI)

Location: South San Francisco, California, United States; onsite presence is expected at least 3 days per week. Relocation benefits are available.

Salary: $130,800–$242,800 annually for Senior Scientist; $150,700–$279,900 annually for Principal Scientist. A discretionary annual bonus may also be available.

What you will do

• Develop and execute the Foundational Data and Models strategy for computational neuroscience.
• Extend data ecosystems to accelerate the neuroscience research portfolio.
• Use large-scale data mining, LLMs, advanced automation, and AI agents to generate scientific insights.
• Integrate human genetics, single-cell atlases, perturbation data, and other datasets to study disease pathobiology.
• Identify new drug targets and biomarkers for neurodegenerative and neuroinflammatory diseases.
• Serve as computational lead for pipeline programs, supporting target validation, mechanism of action, safety, and biomarker studies.

Requirements

• PhD or equivalent training in a relevant field.
• Deep understanding of biological pathways relevant to neurodegeneration or neuroimmunology and computational methods for studying them.
• For the Principal Scientist level: successful postdoctoral research or at least 3 years of equivalent experience after the PhD.
• Experience with several relevant analyses, including Perturb-seq, CRISPR screening, patient tissue or CSF/PBMC atlases, and human genetics for drug-target prioritization.
• Experience with AI approaches and AI agents for scientific research.
• Strong scientific communication skills and evidence of impactful research in multidisciplinary environments.
