Research Associate

Location: New York, NY; hybrid

Salary: $90,000–$110,000 per year plus equity

What you will do

• Update and refine structured collections of companies, people, and relationships using rigorous criteria and customer feedback.
• Trace ownership, subsidiaries, affiliations, investors, partners, and suppliers across borders and jurisdictions.
• Analyze corporate documents in Chinese and English to verify data integrity.
• Partner with engineering to monitor source health, improve data quality, and enforce accuracy guardrails.
• Educate customer-facing teams on collection methodology and help scope new collections based on customer needs.

Requirements

• Fluent English and Mandarin with the ability to read and interpret Chinese- and English-language sources.
• 2+ years of experience in investigations, corporate due diligence, business intelligence, forensic research, KYC/AML, or similar primary-source research.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, especially in identity resolution and data accuracy.
• Interest in global trade, supply chains, and corporate data, with strong business acumen.
• Ability to manage competing priorities, work with urgency, and maintain high-quality output.
• Strong technical proficiency and ability to quickly adapt to new tools and software.
