Software Engineering Manager (AI)

Location: Santa Clara, California; primarily in-office work required at the Santa Clara, CA office

Annual base salary: $193,000–$317,000 USD, with potential incentive pay and/or equity.

What you will do

• Lead the hiring, onboarding, development, and growth of high-performing software engineering teams.
• Direct the technical strategy and architectural health of core data services, including cloud mobility and high-availability systems.
• Manage engineering roadmaps, optimize agile workflows, and address technical debt to support predictable delivery.
• Translate customer and business requirements into technical priorities and long-term milestones in partnership with Product Management.
• Mentor senior and staff-level engineers and promote modern software development practices.

Requirements

• Deep expertise in architecting and shipping large-scale enterprise software.
• Experience with distributed systems, high-availability systems, cloud-native technologies, or storage protocols.
• Proven experience managing and growing software engineering teams in complex organizations.
• Strong delivery management and lean engineering skills, balancing feature velocity with stability, security, and quality.
• Ability to communicate technical trade-offs and project health to executive leadership while staying connected to engineering execution.
• Ability to work from the Santa Clara, California office under company policy, except during PTO, business travel, or approved leave.
